Answers for caregivers
What do we need to prepare before the visit?
Very little. A chair (or recliner, wheelchair, or bed — wherever the client is comfortable), good lighting, and a nearby outlet. We bring everything else, including sanitized tools, capes, and towels. Cleanup is part of every visit.
How does payment work?
We keep it simple: payment is due at the time of the visit. Call or text for current rates, group rates, and repeat-visit discounts. Facility and caregiver invoicing can be arranged on request.
Can family members be present during the haircut?
Absolutely — we encourage it. Family, caregivers, and facility staff are always welcome to stay nearby. It helps many clients feel comfortable, and it's a good time to share any preferences or sensitivities.
How do you work with clients who have dementia or sensory sensitivities?
With patience and flexibility. We use whisper-quiet clippers when needed, follow the client's lead on pacing, keep appointments unrushed, and stop whenever the client needs a break. The goal is a calm, familiar routine — never a struggle.
Do you really set up in the home?
Yes. The cut happens wherever the client is most comfortable, and every visit ends with a thorough cleanup. Your home looks exactly as we found it.
How far in advance should we book?
For one-time visits, a few days' notice is usually enough. For recurring visits and facility Barber Days, we recommend reaching out a week or two ahead so we can reserve a regular spot on the calendar.
